Dr Holly Nel and Tatjana Baleta of the African Marine Waste Network were interviewed by Wits “Science Inside” radio show in light of the recent plastic bag ban in Kenya.

The show also discussed why plastics can be harmful and the current efforts in South Africa to deal with waste issues with Dr Susan Oelofse from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), as well as the effects of plastic on the oceans, with Hayley McLellan from the Two Oceans Aquarium and the Rethink the Bag Campaign.
